It's beginning to look a lot like Lunar New Year

I had a fun weekend filled with late night munchies, movies, mad cleaning and ended it with a small dinner party at my place.

I was reminded that Lunar New Year is this week when we went to a Vietnamese restaurant near my in-law place. I can't believe that I totally forgot about it this year. It is one of my favorite time of the year.

I love how all the restaurants and markets are lit up with lights, colors and over the top decor.

I have some fun stuff coming up this week for the blog. I have a simple Lunar New Year table scape and a fun diy project to celebrate Lunar New Year. Happy Monday!

P.s I know that Valentine's day is right around the corner, so check this cute valentine card and more over at Mr. Boddington spotted on Eat Drink Chic.

P.p.s Also check out this super easy diy Valentine's love book from Paper and Thread Studio spotted on The Wedding Chicks.

I found Hello Kitty on weheartit. Photo 2 and 3 was taken with my phone.

Sleeping in and a comfy bed

I got to sleep in today till about 7 this morning {I usually wake up at 5am} . I did some reading and emails in the comfort of my bed. I rolled around taking my time getting out of bed. I absolutely love mornings like this.

This is my unmade bed. Once I've save up enough money for my bedroom make over, maybe my bed will look something like the beds below.

This is my ultimate dream bed. sigh.

Bed one, two, three, and four.

Wedded Bliss

There are too many weddings that I'm loving around the blogs right now, that I thought I start sharing them all with you each week.

I love this picture of the bride and her father waiting from Southern Weddings Magazine {my absolute favorite wedding magazine}. I also love the bride's elegant lace dress {perfectly southern} from Anne Barge.

Using the chopping board for your menu is pretty brilliant {I'm definitely stealing this idea for a dinner party}. Check out all the wonderful diy details from this wedding over at Green Wedding Shoes.

I don't often get to see rehearsal dinner featured on wedding blogs, so I was super happy when I saw this loving and intimate rehearsal dinner on Snippet and Ink. One of my favorite part of my wedding was definitely the rehearsal dinner. It was stress free {at least for me} with lots of BBQ and line dancing.

Also check out the Modern Green + Gray inspiration board from Every Last Detail Blog and the Vintage Rose Shoe Round Up {swoon! swoon! swoon!} over at Once Wed.

Something to wear to Sunday Brunch.

I just created my first style board using Polyvore this morning. I recently {last night} discovered Polyvore and I am hooked. Check out how I created my style board here.

What do you think of this outfit? I"m a fan of the classic and mixing patterns. I've also find myself gravitating to anything that is gold or mustard yellow recently.

Top and Skirt are from Anthropologie. The Blazer and Button Earings are from ModCloth. The Top Tied Flats are from Forever 21. The Clutch is from Asos. The Rosetta ring is from the Old Gold Boutique.

Dance Dance Dance

Good Morning!! I had a lovely weekend filled with catching up with all of my recently engaged friends. One of the first question I asked them regarding their reception is "Will there be dancing?". One day, I will share with you guys a the choreograph dance I had for my wedding. For now, I will share with you this special Youtube video that is very close to my heart. The video below is from the movie Can't Buy Me Love. I love love 80's movies. I sometime want to transport my self back to the 80's. Any who, the movie clip below is how I learned to dance {please don't judge}. It is really why I have a passion for dancing.

and yes, that is indeed Patrick Dempsey in all his glories.

This just made me SMILE

We're getting our pictures taken at the shop today. I am so excited, but totally crazy at the same time. Crazy enough that I just spent the last 20 minutes practiced smiling and still opening my eyes and not have a triple chin at the same time. I started to feel silly {even in my home, I am weird like that}, so I head over to my Giggles Pinterest Board for some help. That way I had a good reason to be smiling like crazy while starring at my self in the mirror. Hey! don't judge.

Anywho, here are a few things that made me smile.

Below is one youtube video that always bring a huge smile to my face.

Happy Thursday! Don't forget to...

An opened door to my future

Yesterday, I got to have a lunch date with Vivien from The Eclectic Life and Elizabeth from After Yes {a wedding planning boutique}. We all got to share about what is going on with our lives and why we do what we do. There was a common thread as we all shared and talked about our job. It was passion. A passion for what we do and a passion for life. We all have made the difficult decisions to follow passions.

As lunch ended and we parted our separate ways, I got to thinking in my car. It began to dawn on me, this is it. This is what I've been praying and dreaming about. Not only have I found my passion, I am also living it. I get to live it daily, because God has opens the door to let my future in. He had done this once before when He opens the door to marriage for me and now He had done it again for my career.

The picture above is from one of my favorite blog called Making Things Happen. I visited it daily and today I came across Lara {one of three writers for the blog} blogging about dreams and Martin Luther King, Jr {thank you sir, you've have inspired a generations and more to pursue the impossible}. This is from her post.

" Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. … I have a dream today!

If Martin Luther King, Jr., hadn’t stood up and voiced his dream, where would we be? If you don’t stand up and voice yours…. Imagine the possibilities. Dream big. He did. He changed a nation. A world. What is your dream?

Start with giving. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ - Martin Luther King, Jr.

- Lara "

Warning: major gushing about my boss and co-worker is about to begin. The door that God has open for me this time is through my sweet boss Debby, the owner of Branching Out Floral and Event Design. She took me on knowing that I have little to no experience with floral, but it is my dream and passion to design. She has not only given me a job, but she has also taken on the role of a mentor. She is showing me the in and out of floral designs. She is completely transparent. She let me take an active role and be part of an amazing team. She is teaching and preparing me for my own business one day. Along with Debby, I also have an amazing co-worker name Amanda. I am in awe of her daily. I am in awe of her as a person and of her as a co-worker. She and Debby are two of the most encouraging people I know. They encouraged and make me laugh daily. I am so happy to be in the moment right now. I am living my future daily. I truly pray and hope that one day I get to give back as graciously as Debby and Amanda are doing right now.

and as for you friends, I hope you are being loud about your dreams. Don't forget to dream BIG!!!

Oatmeal Lace design

I was looking around Etsy for some cute engagement gifts idea for all my recently engaged friends. While doing that I stumbled across a delightful Etsy shop called Oatmeal Lace design. I clicked on the link simply because of my interest for the name and I'm so glad I did. Oatmeal Lace design specializes in creating these simple, chic and super cute clutches that I think would make the perfect bridesmaids gift. These clutches would also be great for every day use and especially for those dates night too. If my husband and I weren't on a spending freeze right now, I would have purchase one right away.

You can purchase pre-made designs for $45 or customized your own clutch with coordinating interior lining and exterior fabrics for about $50.

Aren't these darling??!!

You also need to swing on over to Green Wedding Shoes blog to check out Mckay's {the genius behind Oatmeal Lace Design} wedding. It was simply southern and gorgeous!!!
Mckay also have her own sweet blog here.

Casual Chic and a burst of colors.

I love how casually put together this outfit is on Keri Russell.

I'm also loving this outfit on Syd from The Day Book. The bold colors and fresh floral pattern Syd put together definitely help warm me up on this cold dreary day in Dallas.

Kinda wishing I was strolling through the street of Paris this morning. It is also snowing here in Dallas, but not nearly as lovely as Paris in the photo above.

Well one day...

I Believe

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
Eleanor Roosevelt

Happy Friday y'all!! Don't forget to believe in the beauty of your dreams.

The photo is from Oh, Hello Friend.

The jumping off point for my bedroom make over

One of my goals for 2011 is to completely make over my bedroom. I don't have the exact plan yet, but I like to start with one thing and then go from there. My first inspiration is this sweet hand painted 18th century wallpaper.

The detail of this wallpaper is just stunning.

Swoon!!

Since 18th century hand painted wall paper is not something you come across every day {and it is probably way out of my budget} I had to think of a second option. After looking around the blogging world for quite some time I found this beautiful hand painted wall mural inspired by the French fashion designer Paul Poiret on Designs Sponge.

It was love at first site for me. It is definitely not gonna be an easy task, but I am up for the challenge. I don't know the exact colors scheme for my bed room yet, but that is next on my list. As of right now in my head, I am wanting the mural to be over the bed. Whether or not the mural will replace a head board, I do not know. What do y'all think?

I am super excited right now. I can't wait to share this process with y'all. I'm sure there will be lots of weird looks and what was she thinking moments.

I spotted the wallpaper on This is Glamorous.
