Childhood memories and laughters.

We finally got internet over the weekend. Whoooohoooo {doing a celebration dance}!! This weekend was pretty wonderful. We had two weddings on Saturday, and they both had some of my favorite details to date and they were both at two of my favorites venues.

Wedding number one was a morning wedding with a brunch and mimosa reception {yum!} at the Aldredge House in the historical Swiss Avenue District of Dallas. It was an eclectic wedding with a touch of vintage. I seriously can't wait to share more from this wedding. I had the best time ever setting up this wedding. It was pure fun!!

The second wedding was at the charming Flour Mill in Mckinney. It's a brand new venue and it is already on the top of my favorite venues list.

My mom also came back from Viet Nam over the weekend and brought back the best kind of presents. One of the biggest material lost I've had is a huge albums of my old baby pictures. I lost it during a move from California to Texas about 10 years ago. Well because I am so blessed, my mom found an album of old pictures of her and my 5th birthday during this trip. I am so excited to get to share this with y'all.

My mom with her best friend, who she is still best friend with. They've been best friends for about 40 years {I can't wait to grow old together with my best friends}. They were 17 in this picture.

My mom when she was 15. Now y'all know where I got my round face from.

There wasn't a date behind this picture, but we're guessing she's 17 in this picture.

My mom at 17. Isn't she beautiful. This is one of my favorite picture of her.

This was at my mom 16th birthday party. The boy in the left corner was my mom first crush and boyfriend. They went on two dates before he moved to Canada. They're still friend.

These pictures below are from my 5th birthday. I counted at least 3 different outfits change. Hahahaha.

My mom and I. This picture makes me melt a little {I love you, mom!!}.

Outfit number one.

Outfit number 2. I remember {or at least, I was told} hating this dress. It was frilly, itchy, and extremely hot.

This is my uncle. He is a pretty special man. He pretty much raised me. I am an uncle girl. He took me to school every day and would save up his pay check to buy me school supplies. Every Saturday night when I was little he would let me stay up late and watch American movies with him {with out my mom knowledge oh course, because we mostly watched action movies}. When I'm sad he would take me out and drive me around the city at night. Those are some of my favorite childhood memory. I can not begin to express the gratitude I have for him. I love you, Cau Tu!!!

Third outfit and also my favorite. You might be wondering why is there a Christmas tree when it is August {check out the date in the upper right hand corner}. Apparently for my 5th birthday, I wanted a Christmas party according to my mom. I think I was pretty spoil as a child.

P.s My mom told me that the reason why I didn't smile wide {like I usually do} in all of my birthday pictures is because apparently I was missing my 4 front teethes.

The best present of all is the picture below.

This is my grandma when she was 24 {that's how old I'm turning this year}. My grandma is one of the most influential people in my life. She taught me what matter most in life and how to give and give again. After a full and long day of work {3am - 6pm} 3 days a week she would teach the girls in our neighborhood who couldn't afford to go to school {there are no public school in Viet Nam} how to sew and mend so that they have a way to make a living. I missed her dearly and every time I laugh, I would think of her. She also taught me how to laugh and really live and not be afraid to pursue my passion. One of the thing my mom, my aunt and I have in common is our laughters. We laugh a lot and and we laugh really loud. We all got that from my grandmother.

Sunday

Last week was all kind of crazy {as you can tell from my sudden stop in blogging}. Here are just a few of the fun things that went on last week. I'll leave out all the not so fun things that went on last week.

We celebrated my youngest brother 22nd birthday!!

My husband grandparents.

After dinner, we made him played a song that he had recently composed. He was not too happy about that!!! hahaha.

Made a trip to the fabric warehouse to find some fabric for a wedding. I spotted some polka dots fabric {not for the wedding}.

I also went back to the Dallas Farmers Market. I couldn't find any beets this time though.
{See my first trip to the farmers market here}

We also went to the Dallas zoo. Not a good place to go when you have baby fever. 99% of the people there were young couples and families with little kiddos.

I embarrassed my little brother by making him taking a picture next to the sign that had part of his name in it.

That cute little guy gave me good licking. Which I didn't like so much.

We also ran into one of our groomsman who was there with his girlfriend. After they had walked away, I made them turn around so I could take a picture to blog about it. hahaha. Thanks Matt and Molly. Over all, the Dallas zoo was pretty fun. They even have a picnic area and allow you to bring in your own food and drink.

I'm working on some fun projects {another reason why I"ve been so busy} right now and I can't wait to share it with y'all within the next few weeks.

Sunday

This week was a combination of snow and sunshine here in Texas.

On Wednesday, it snowed! I made pancakes.

On Saturday, it was warm with lots of sunshine. I went to the Dallas Farmers Market to pick up some limes for a wedding we had today.

This was my first time at the Dallas Farmers Market and I think I'm in love. There was so much fresh produce. The prices were pretty decent and I love the fact that it was from local farmers. This is definitely gonna become one of my favorite things to do from now on.

I was tempted to get some beets, simply because they were so pretty. I ended up not getting them since I have never cooked with them before. Do you have a favorite beet recipes? Please share! I would love to purchase some beets the next time I go. They ought to taste good since they look so good right??

I did buy a watermelon though. They are my favorite. It was a bit over priced, but I can never resist a good watermelon. Since they were all the same price, I picked up out the biggest one.

Saturday night was date night. We originally wanted some sushi, but that was a bust. There was an hour wait, so we went to Razzoo's instead.

Today, we had a small wedding at the Old Red Court House. Debby {my boss lady} made one of my favorite bouquets so far. The bouquet had peonies, anemones, ranunculus, mini cymbidium orchids and hydrangea.

The shining star of that bouquet was definitely the anemones. They are one of my favorite flowers.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. What are you up to? I'm pretty excited!!

Dance Dance Dance

Good Morning!! I had a lovely weekend filled with catching up with all of my recently engaged friends. One of the first question I asked them regarding their reception is "Will there be dancing?". One day, I will share with you guys a the choreograph dance I had for my wedding. For now, I will share with you this special Youtube video that is very close to my heart. The video below is from the movie Can't Buy Me Love. I love love 80's movies. I sometime want to transport my self back to the 80's. Any who, the movie clip below is how I learned to dance {please don't judge}. It is really why I have a passion for dancing.

and yes, that is indeed Patrick Dempsey in all his glories.

This just made me SMILE

We're getting our pictures taken at the shop today. I am so excited, but totally crazy at the same time. Crazy enough that I just spent the last 20 minutes practiced smiling and still opening my eyes and not have a triple chin at the same time. I started to feel silly {even in my home, I am weird like that}, so I head over to my Giggles Pinterest Board for some help. That way I had a good reason to be smiling like crazy while starring at my self in the mirror. Hey! don't judge.

Anywho, here are a few things that made me smile.

Below is one youtube video that always bring a huge smile to my face.

Happy Thursday! Don't forget to...

Happy New Year!!!

I hope y'all will have the most amazing New Year Eve with your love ones and family!!!! I will be ringing in the new year {if I can make to midnight} playing board games with my family and I"m sure there will be lots of laughter and love. Hopefully this time I won't be such a sore looser. I'm pretty competitive when it comes to board games {just ask my husband and brothers}.

with lots of love and hugs,
Amy

Thinking about dyeing my hair this color...

What do you think?

I have thick and long dark black hair right now. I'm feeling playful and adventurous.

Or maybe I'm just in love with this photo.

Photo from Pinterest.

I'm a little busy bee!!!

Ok Go - A Million Ways {I"m pretty crazy about Ok Go}

How was everyone Christmas??? Mine was more than crazy and busy this year. I'm sad {and slightly embarrassed} to confess that I was still Christmas Shopping up until Christmas Eve. Here is a quick recap of the last few days last week.

On Thursday, I got to set up and witness one of my best friend proposal.

{I will post more pictures and details later on}

The same night we also celebrated my Father in law birthday.

We spent hours waiting in line on Friday doing last minute shopping.

We barely got home in time to get ready for Christmas Eve with my Hubby family.

Me and the Hub at his parents house.

We spent Christmas lunch with my Mom and Aunt.

My mom is the one in the gray dress. I double dare you to guess her age!!!! I hope I will get her good aging gene.

This post is all over the place is because I'm exhausted. My hubby, little brother and I took a little road trip to visit our siblings in Colorado today.

A beautiful sunset in Kansas, on our way to Colorado.
