An opened door to my future

Yesterday, I got to have a lunch date with Vivien from The Eclectic Life and Elizabeth from After Yes {a wedding planning boutique}. We all got to share about what is going on with our lives and why we do what we do. There was a common thread as we all shared and talked about our job. It was passion. A passion for what we do and a passion for life. We all have made the difficult decisions to follow passions.

As lunch ended and we parted our separate ways, I got to thinking in my car. It began to dawn on me, this is it. This is what I've been praying and dreaming about. Not only have I found my passion, I am also living it. I get to live it daily, because God has opens the door to let my future in. He had done this once before when He opens the door to marriage for me and now He had done it again for my career.

The picture above is from one of my favorite blog called Making Things Happen. I visited it daily and today I came across Lara {one of three writers for the blog} blogging about dreams and Martin Luther King, Jr {thank you sir, you've have inspired a generations and more to pursue the impossible}. This is from her post.

" Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends. And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. … I have a dream today!

If Martin Luther King, Jr., hadn’t stood up and voiced his dream, where would we be? If you don’t stand up and voice yours…. Imagine the possibilities. Dream big. He did. He changed a nation. A world. What is your dream?

Start with giving. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Warning: major gushing about my boss and co-worker is about to begin. The door that God has open for me this time is through my sweet boss Debby, the owner of Branching Out Floral and Event Design. She took me on knowing that I have little to no experience with floral, but it is my dream and passion to design. She has not only given me a job, but she has also taken on the role of a mentor. She is showing me the in and out of floral designs. She is completely transparent. She let me take an active role and be part of an amazing team. She is teaching and preparing me for my own business one day. Along with Debby, I also have an amazing co-worker name Amanda. I am in awe of her daily. I am in awe of her as a person and of her as a co-worker. She and Debby are two of the most encouraging people I know. They encouraged and make me laugh daily. I am so happy to be in the moment right now. I am living my future daily. I truly pray and hope that one day I get to give back as graciously as Debby and Amanda are doing right now.

and as for you friends, I hope you are being loud about your dreams. Don't forget to dream BIG!!!

Kiki's Delivery Service

I just watch Kiki's Delivery Service for the millionth time last night. Kiki's Delivery Service is my ultimate favorite childhood movie. No matter how old I am, I can always relate back to Kiki. She's a thirteen years old witch in training {no, I am not a witch in training}. I won't go into too much details because I really want you to watch this movie if you haven't already. I relate to Kiki in different ways depending on what I'm going through at that point in my life. Right now, I'm relating to Kiki when she discovered the purpose and passion behind her talent. The biggest reason why I'm so passionate about being a wedding stylist is because I love marriage. I love what it stand for and I love celebrating life and love. Well this passion is becoming a reality more and more each day {especially yesterday}. I"m truly honored by those of you who have been reading this blog of mine and I can't wait to share this journey and passion of mine with y'all.

with all the joy in the world,
Amy

P.s On a total random side note, I just have to share this picture with y'all I just spotted on The Lil Bee blog. I seriously can't stop laughing right now!!!

Both Pictures are from Pinterest.

Still laughing...

Random Rant #1

Before you continue reading... I must warn you, I"m feeling a bit dramatic.

I find this picture so beautiful and so perfect for how I'm feeling right now. I"m honestly completely overwhelmed. I started an internship this week. An unpaid internship, but that don't matter. In just a matter of hours, I got to see a potential glimpse into a dream I've been nursing for so long. Taking on an unpaid part time internship was a bit tough financially, but it seriously drove some lightning through me. I makes me want to pray harder, work harder and dream harder. It makes me realize that this is not gonna be a quick and easy road. It also confirmed to me that with hard work and determination, I can make this dream a reality. Have I told you yet? Have I told you that I want to be a wedding stylist? I want to create the most inspired day that celebrates life, love and marriage.

My mom think I'm crazy for committing to this unpaid internship, but at the same time I think it finally hit her how badly I want this.

I found some inspiration tonight from my friend Stefanie Miles tweet.
