Sunday

Last week was all kind of crazy {as you can tell from my sudden stop in blogging}. Here are just a few of the fun things that went on last week. I'll leave out all the not so fun things that went on last week.

We celebrated my youngest brother 22nd birthday!!

My husband grandparents.

After dinner, we made him played a song that he had recently composed. He was not too happy about that!!! hahaha.

Made a trip to the fabric warehouse to find some fabric for a wedding. I spotted some polka dots fabric {not for the wedding}.

I also went back to the Dallas Farmers Market. I couldn't find any beets this time though.
{See my first trip to the farmers market here}

We also went to the Dallas zoo. Not a good place to go when you have baby fever. 99% of the people there were young couples and families with little kiddos.

I embarrassed my little brother by making him taking a picture next to the sign that had part of his name in it.

That cute little guy gave me good licking. Which I didn't like so much.

We also ran into one of our groomsman who was there with his girlfriend. After they had walked away, I made them turn around so I could take a picture to blog about it. hahaha. Thanks Matt and Molly. Over all, the Dallas zoo was pretty fun. They even have a picnic area and allow you to bring in your own food and drink.

I'm working on some fun projects {another reason why I"ve been so busy} right now and I can't wait to share it with y'all within the next few weeks.

Pushing Daisies

I recently discovered one of my old favorite shows on Netflix, Pushing Daisies. I absolutely love that show. It is full of charm, humor and witty with a touch of whimsy at every turn. One of my favorite thing about the show is definitely the fashion. Charlotte "Chuck" Charles {the main character love interest} always have the sweetest vintage-style sundresses.

I miss female character like "Chuck" played by the adorable Anna Friel.

After re-watching the show again, I am now in the mood for some fun sundresses.

Vineyard Excursion Dress from ModCloth. {Don't you just love that name?!}

Chloe Floral Dress from Forever 21. {It's a steal at only $15.80}

Who's ready for summer? I am!!!

Cross Stitching

On my to do list for next weekend is learning how to cross stitch. Here is the tutorial on Martha Stewart's blog.

I think it'll be a fun project and a great way to personalize some gifts I have in mind for some of my friends getting married this year. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up easily. Martha always make things look so easy, but that is not always the case.

Here are some fun patterns on Martha's blog.

An Afternoon Date Tablescape and Beignets

Happy Thursday! I didn't get much sleep last night and I had an early start at work, so I was looking forward to going home. I took home some flowers {tulips and stocks} with me today. I have a date tomorrow with one of my best friend who's getting married later this year. I know that she has been stressed and overwhelmed with all the wedding planning, I wanted to put something special {and simple} together for her.

I put together some purple tulips {tulips are on sale right now at Central Market after the Valentine's day rush} in my favorite vintage clear hobnail vase. I also put out some of my favorite wedding magazines.

Happy almost Friday!

I gonna make some Beignets and fresh Vietnamese Coffee for her tomorrow. I think it'll be a fun afternoon snacks for our date. I got the Beignets mix from a friend and I have been dying to try it. I will be sure to post more pictures after tomorrow and tell you about the Beignets.

Check out some more fun tablescapes over at Between Naps on the Porch's blog.

The "Taking Notes" Skirt Tutorial

I can fall in love with this skirt for just the name alone. It's called a "Taking notes" skirt. Don't you just love that name?! {Or it is just me, because I'm a dork who loves taking note?}

What I love the most about this skirt though is the maker choice of pattern {you probably already guest that, didn't you}. Check out the tutorial for this skirt on Sewing In No Mans Land.

Be Mine

Will you Be Mine?

Happy Valentine's Day!! I just had a wonderful sushi dinner {yay! finally} with the hubby. We're about to kick back and watch RED {I love a good action flick, especially one with comedy}.

How was your valentine's day? What did you do? Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Mine Valentine's day was lovely. I got to sleep in today. Sleeping in and getting sushi is pretty much my favorite kind of day.

Sunday

This week was a combination of snow and sunshine here in Texas.

On Wednesday, it snowed! I made pancakes.

On Saturday, it was warm with lots of sunshine. I went to the Dallas Farmers Market to pick up some limes for a wedding we had today.

This was my first time at the Dallas Farmers Market and I think I'm in love. There was so much fresh produce. The prices were pretty decent and I love the fact that it was from local farmers. This is definitely gonna become one of my favorite things to do from now on.

I was tempted to get some beets, simply because they were so pretty. I ended up not getting them since I have never cooked with them before. Do you have a favorite beet recipes? Please share! I would love to purchase some beets the next time I go. They ought to taste good since they look so good right??

I did buy a watermelon though. They are my favorite. It was a bit over priced, but I can never resist a good watermelon. Since they were all the same price, I picked up out the biggest one.

Saturday night was date night. We originally wanted some sushi, but that was a bust. There was an hour wait, so we went to Razzoo's instead.

Today, we had a small wedding at the Old Red Court House. Debby {my boss lady} made one of my favorite bouquets so far. The bouquet had peonies, anemones, ranunculus, mini cymbidium orchids and hydrangea.

The shining star of that bouquet was definitely the anemones. They are one of my favorite flowers.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. What are you up to? I'm pretty excited!!
